Yes, they are closed Mon-Tues for now
Yep
Beautiful little French joint. Serves coffee in a giant bowl, just like in France. A real gem. Baby friendly.
This is the kind of place that makes you feel like at home! The bakery and coffee were incredible.Look for Thomas, he is awesome and will recommend you the best bread pudding you ever had!
Reopened after the founder sold the original bakery to Starbucks. The bakery has been renamed, but the food is just as good. Try the cheese danish!
Authentic French bakery. Artisanal breads and delicious pastries. Very friendly staff
My friend lives a few blocks from here and stops in for a latte and pastry multiple times a week, if not daily. They definitely knew who she was when we walked in. She said it is one of her favorite places to get coffee, and she adores all their pastries.I am not drinking coffee these days, so I opted for a small hot chocolate on Wednesday morning. It was THE BEST hot chocolate I have EVER had. It wasn't cloyingly sweet, and literally tasted just like melted chocolate poured into milk. I was in love,Thursday morning we went back and I got a large - only $3.75! That is cheaper than Starbucks, and it is WAY better. Super glad my friend lives within walking distance to this awesome little cafe, I look forward to going back next time I visit!
Great cafe, so-so bakery. Sandwiches and pastries are pretty good. They seem to bake everything at this location for all the other Boulangeries in the area, so there's very little seating and no restroom, but still cozy.
Great. Everything is fresh from the oven
Nice bakery serving coffee French-style, in bowls. The coffee was surprisingly nice. There is indoor seating available - not super charming (no windows and close to the bakery area), but reasonably quiet.
Such a nice place to buy bread and pastries... we got a couple of baguettes (we tried them today for breakfast and they are amazing! So crunchy when you toast them!) and also a chocolate croissant and the dough was delicious! Staff was great, they helped us choose and went above and beyond to make sure we got what we wanted.
A cute little French bakery with friendly staff.I had the butter croissant with strawberry jam and caramel latte coffee. Both were absolutely delicious.I would love to go back to this place.
Delicious! lovely atmosphere in this working bakery/cafe.
Pastry options with organic ingredients? I'm there.
The food looks nice and it’s a cool place with a nice buzz. However the food was not fresh: the almond croissant was chewy instead of flaky, and they insisted they warm up the turkey sandwich (otherwise that also wouldn’t have had a nice crust).
Coconut cold brew is amazing!
Their mini sandwiches are the perfect little bite! My favorite is the chicken arugula
Delish chocolate croissants, flaky and just right ratio of chocolate to pastry dough. Very good decaf cappuccinos and other espresso coffees available. Some seats and tables inside to enjoy your pastries and beverages. Friendly and helpful staff.
This place gets a 0 for ambiance and a 6 for food. Averages to a 5, no?I just happened to be passing by. I got bread pudding and the dude gave me a sample of what's coming out today - some pear-almond pastry thingy. It was heaven! The bread pudding was pretty good too. I'll come back. Maybe get some coffee or a sandwich. But beware - the pics and the website are A-1 classy and professional. The factory...er, bakery... doesn't match. The food does though, and that's what counts.
The food was great, but the staff wasn't particularly friendly.
I love coming here for breakfast in the morning. Depending on which Boulangerie you go to, the crossaints are either fresh or not. Coffee is always great no matter what location.
The croissants here were delicious. Get the almond croissant for sure!
Total 5-star on their bakery and sandwich products. Truly a taste of France. Recently in Beaune and this place is a total taste replica for its baked goods and baguette sandwiches. But the price is way over the TOP by 30% thus making it a place to treat yourself (except for the $1 baguette which is priced to draw you in maybe). Not an everyday stop IMHO unfortunately.
Excellent pasteries, bread and fine French style bowl of coffee. Has almost recovered from painful Starbucks takeover.
Cute hole-in-the-wall place, delicious food. Wish they would bring back the olive baguettes.
Absolutely top class. Had sweet cheese pastry and also apple pastry. Hot fresh and delicious.
I absolutely love La Boulangerie. It’s in my neighborhood and so I come here every weekend. I usually come right before it closes and get a quiche or sandwich for dinner. I think they are reasonably priced for how tasty they are. The people that run this place are also very friendly and they always have free samples out. There’s a small eating area towards the back but it can get a little crowded. They offer some really delicious pastries (chocolate fondant is soo good) and coffee.
I was craving their croissants so I decided to make a quick stop. They're temporarily closed for renovation!
Very good cheeses Danish.
Croissants were just okay. Staff was nice
Very nice, great bakery, mocha is rich and flaversome, nice service, nice environment! Great stuff! :)
Best Brioche EVER...bread and hamburger buns. Tried the sandwiches for the first time. New go to place in the city. Just enough fill and the best rolls you can imagine. Also, have mini sandwiches and small salads. Just right for a lite meal. All around excellent selections and a great bakery.
One word: amazing. The La Boulangerie de San Francisco is to die for. My entire family loved it. I will definitely be back!
Don't miss this place, must have for breakfast.
Quintessential french bakery tucked in the hills of San Francisco. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, make this a stop. A small store front attached to the actual bakery, so seating is limited.
Only place with whole wheat croissants ... yummy
Outstanding pastries. Try their new selections... yummy
I have no idea what this place is like since it is closed! It would be nice if that were noted on the site!
Everything we got tasted like heaven!
Hands down the best bakery I have ever visited. The kougin amann's are THE BEST you can get in SF. With so many unique baked goods...its really hard to make a decision on what to buy. Everything I have tried is WONDERFUL. Highly recommended.
Wonderful bakery with an authentic Parisian feel.
They have a variety of breads and cakes. One can definitely give a try.
This is by far the best French bakery in the Bay area. Authentically French and won't disappoint. The prices are fair and if it matters, they did list out where they source all their ingredients. It's not too far from the civic centre attractions and worth the trek if you're in the area.
Wow so happy to have this little gem back in the hood.Sad that Starbucks could not keep the food up
Delicious pastries, coffee. Kind of pricey, but I'd say it's worth it. This location is tiny though so don't expect to be able to sit down - there are two seats by the window and one communal table with maybe 8 seats, plus some along the wall, but again it's all really tight.
Strong selection. Bread pudding is the best outside of the UK. I appreciate that this is authentic French baking and pastry. This bakery never over uses sugar. Always flaky, buttery, whole cream, fresh fruits. Strong lunch options with daily baked breads, rolls, sheu pastry.
Small, cozy bakery serving a great variety of fresh french style pastries, bread and sandwiches. They also serve freshly made coffee and have some limited seating space for those who want to enjoy the food onsite.Got a very tasty chocolate croissant (technically what is typically called "pain au chocolat" in France) and a nice cappuccino, which made for a great continental breakfast with great quality / price ratio. Recommended!
I don't understand the hype. It is an ordinary bakery. It doesn't have that rich taste. Not enough things on the menu. It's just located at a place with high foot fall.
Good bread.
Great baked goods in a rustic environment.
Amazing small bakery!
Awesome on all fronts! Service was superb too.
